ROI Unleashed: The Impact of Landing Page Design and A/B Testing

Simplifying Legal Applications in Mass Tort Campaigns

  • As the UX/UI Designer, I led the end-to-end design process, collaborating closely with legal experts, product managers, and developers. My responsibilities included:

    • Conducting user research to understand claimant pain points

    • Designing user flows that simplified decision-making

    • Creating wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes to visualize the experience

    • Testing designs with real users to refine and optimize the process

Background

Mass tort litigation can be a lifeline for individuals harmed by faulty products or negligence, yet the process of joining these campaigns is daunting. The startup I worked for aimed to streamline the experience for potential claimants. We faced two key challenges: legal processes are inherently complex, and users often felt overwhelmed or confused when trying to determine their eligibility.

Our goal? To create an easy, intuitive, and trustworthy way for users to apply and take the first step toward justice.

Understanding the Users

We began with qualitative research: interviews with potential claimants and consultations with legal professionals. I discovered that users’ main concerns were confusion about eligibility and fear of the legal process.

I mapped out a journey that highlighted critical moments of uncertainty and identified opportunities to build confidence and clarity.

The Solution

I designed a step-by-step eligibility questionnaire that:

  1. Guided users clearly through each question, avoiding legal jargon.

  2. Provided real-time feedback and reassurance that users were on the right track.

  3. Used progress indicators to reduce anxiety and give users a sense of control.

  4. Offered personalized explanations at decision points to clarify why certain questions were necessary.

The visual design focused on simplicity and trustworthiness, incorporating clean layouts, plain language, and accessible design principles to ensure inclusivity.

Impact

The redesigned application process led to:

  • A 30% increase in completed applications within the first three months.

  • A noticeable drop in user confusion, as measured by post-application surveys.

  • Positive feedback highlighting the ease and clarity of the process.

By making a complex legal process feel simple and approachable, we empowered more people to seek the justice they deserved.

Key Takeaway

This project reinforced my belief in the power of human-centered design: when you simplify complexity and put the user first, you can transform intimidating experiences into opportunities for empowerment.
